This book teaches about how life in the 1950's was like for a black man in Los Angeles. Easy is a man of many illegal talents that gets a letter from the government looking for money. Sure he might owe the money, but there is no evidence saying so. The FBI steps in to help Easy, but he has to help catch a communist in action first.
It gets a hold of you from the very first page. Easy is always finding himself at the wrong place at the wrong time. This story has murder and sex all over it.
This is no chick book. It was meant for a guy that just wants the facts. Not a lot of descriptions and a lot of dialogue. It is also for the type of person that likes reality. It is really believable that this happened back in the day.
